Sir Herbert Leon Academy is an 11-19 mixed comprehensive in Bletchley, South Milton Keynes. Our Academy has some 670 learners and employs 105 dedicated teachers and support staff. Learners at the Academy are supported to be highly ambitious, to develop a genuine enthusiasm for learning and to be proud to represent their Academy and community.
The Academy boasts some wonderful learning facilities, particularly in Sport and the Arts. There is a new library, a theatre/cinema and an abundance of ICT teaching technology available in every learning environment. The ratio of computers to students is better than 1:2. In addition to this, the school has a swimming pool and a fully equipped fitness suite. The Academy has both Arts Mark and Sports Mark Gold (recently reaccredited) and it is three times Investor in People. This excellent breath of resources is impacting on performance where exam results are improving year on year. Our dramatic academic progress reflects our ever improving teaching and learning together with upward trends in attendance and behaviour.
At Sir Herbert Leon Academy we care about and are totally committed to each and every student’s academic success, personal well-being and preparation for the future. We are proud to be an inclusive community school which welcomes all cultures, faiths and beliefs. Our core purpose is to enable all young people to have the opportunities to make exceptional progress both academically and in their life outside of the classroom so that they are able to live fulfilling and successful lives. Our commitment to Self-management, Teamwork, Reflective and Independent learning, Participation and Experimental thinking underpin everything that we do.
